We carry a wide selection of new and used violins, violas and
cellos. Every instrument, regardless of its price, gets the same
professional set-up by Edmond “Bud” Godreau, our resident
bowed-string luthier. Bud has worked in violin building and
restoration for thirty years.
Our instruments and bows are selected by Christine and Lee
from vendors who visit the shop several times a year with their
wares.
At High Strung, we feel passionately that beginners need an
instrument that is easy to play and sounds its best. There's nothing
worse than trying to learn the complexities of violin on an instrument
that's fighting you.
Our close relationship with Durham and Chapel Hill strings
teachers ensures that we stock high quality small violins that
meet their standards. We are proud to help support the many
wonderful strings programs offered through the public and
private schools in our area.
